At Cannaaid, we pride ourselves on our dedication to ingenuity and innovation, which is why we’re constantly looking to find the newest and most potent cannabinoids on the market. Some of the newer, more popular cannabinoids that we’ve released include Delta 8, Delta 10, and THCO, all of which have recently garnered the attention of THC enthusiasts. Along with these three, we’ve recently released HHC, a cannabinoid that was actually first discovered in 1944, but just recently being used by THC consumers. In this article, we’re going to discuss what HHC is, how it affects users, and where you can purchase some today!

Let’s get into it.

What Is HHC?

HHC, or hydroxyhexahydrocannabinol, is a cannabinoid that was first discovered by Dr. Albert Housman in 1944 and has just recently been introduced to THC enthusiasts as another potent compound for use. Housman took regular delta-9 THC and added hydrogen molecules to it in a process known as hydrogenation. A perk of hydrogenation is that it gives stability at the molecular level. Additionally, because HHC is a hydrogenated compound, it binds to different receptors than regular Hemp cannabinoids such as Delta-8. HHC is often used as a replacement for Delta 9 THC because HHC’s chemical structure is so similar to Delta 9 THC. In lamens terms, HHC is to THC, what margarine is to butter – very similar, yet slightly different.

Additionally,  HHC is known to be one of the most powerful cannabinoids on the market because it binds so tightly with CB1 receptors in the human brain. These receptors are responsible for causing many long-lasting effects on mood, appetite, and memory.

The Effects of HHC

HHC users report that this cannabinoid affects them very similarly to Delta 9 THC. There are many HHC benefits, including relief from anxiety and stress, insomnia, appetite stimulation and anti-inflammatory properties that make it great for arthritis sufferers as well. HHC is also known to be a powerful antioxidant. Additionally, HHC digests in your body the same way Delta 9 THC does, making it more potent than Delta 8 and Delta 10.

According to, the potential benefits of HHC include:

  • May help manage chronic pain
  • May reduce inflammation
  • May promote deeper, more restorative sleep
  • May alleviate nausea or vomiting
  • May alleviate anxiety (may also increase anxiousness)

Even more exciting is that because of HHC’s stable structure, it retains a much longer shelf life than Delta 9 THC. “As [Delta 9 THC] oxidizes, it loses hydrogen atoms and forms two new double bonds on its top ring structure. When this happens, THC becomes CBN (cannabinol) — which has only 10% of the psychoactivity of THC,” explains

Where Can You Buy HHC?
