Why People Are Loving CBN

Formally known as “cannabidiol”, CBD is a chemical compound from the Cannabis Sativa plant. What many people aren’t aware of, however, is that the Cannabis Sativa plant offers other cannabinoids besides just CBD, such as CBN and CBG. In this article, we’re going to focus on CBN, and break down exactly what it is and the benefits that it can offer you.

CBN is short for “cannabinol”, which, like CBD, is another cannabinoid extracted from the cannabis plant. CBN forms when tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) breaks down after long periods of time. Just like some fine wines are better with age, so is CBN. The degradation of the THC is accelerated when it’s exposed to oxygen and heat. It’s important to note that just because CBN is formed from THC, similarly to CBD, it does not get users high. In fact, it has been shown to be only 1/4 as strong as THC.

Just like CBD, CBN is legal in all 50 states. However, because CBN is rather new, it hasn’t been researched as extensively as both CBD and THC have been.
